Country of origin:
Type of music generally:
Mainstream pop dance music, shading marginally into rap. (email@example.com)
Most recent release, Doin' the Do: the Best of Betty Boo (compilation, 1999)
I listened to this one when I got it on spec a couple of years ago, allowed a pile of later acquisitions to grow over it, and have never felt any great urgency about fishing it out :-). The music and lyrics, as best I remember them, are not the worst of their kind, nor the best. However, I doubt that either this or her second album, the name of which I didn't bother to note when I stumbled on it in a record-store bin, will be of much interest to ectophiles who don't maintain an independent interest in the interface between dance music and rap.
Recommended first album:
1990—Original release in the U.K.; re-released in the U.S.
Not recommended unless you're into dance music
Boppy dance fun. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
