Country of origin:
Type of music generally:
Most recent release, Parfume (2015)
Sheryl Crow with a touch of Margot Smith
Mostly own, occasional co-writing
Dicte's music is tough, but arty and occasionally has touches of Europop. Her vocals are mostly forceful, sultry, and low but there are occasional beautiful lilts and balladic moments—she certainly has a lot of range. (email@example.com)
Recommended first album:
Between Any Four Walls is the only one we've heard
1994—Pladecompagniet as—PCCD 8068
Dicte Westergaard Madsen—vocals, guitar
Kæv Gliemann—kayboards, programming, samples, string arrangement
Kæv Gliemann & Dicte Westergaard Madsen
There's a lot of urgency and energy overall, but mostly this album feels really uneven to me. I'm not so fond of her out and out rock songs—they feel pretty dated—but tracks like "The Blue Skin" are really lovely and make it well worth tracking this down. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
