DuplexCountry of origin:Canada Type of music generally:Indie rock for children Status:Final release, Worser (2009) See also:Veda Hille's info on Duplex Comparisons:I'm sure they may be some music out there like this, but as I don't tend to listen to children's music I don't know them Covers/own material:Mostly own, some covers General comments:This is solo artist Veda Hille, her partner Justin Kellam (of the band p:ano), Annie Wilson and Matt Caruso (of The Beekeepers) and children making a truly fun indie rock album for kids. I don't know if this is a one-off. I hope not! They sound like they're having so much fun it's utterly infectious. (Neile) Recommended first album:Ablum is the only one we've heard Recordings:
AblumRelease info:2005—Mint Records—#MRD-083 Availability:Canada Ecto priority:Highly recommended for anyone who wants a more interesting children's album Group members:Abe Caruso—xyophone, harmonica, rattles, vocals Comments:Really delightful. If you're a kid or have kids, I highly recommend it. I almost didn't buy this because hey, I'm not a kid, nor do I have kids or have many of them over to share this album (ablum) with. But I'm so glad I did buy it. My life would be much sadder without such songs as "Mr. Slim" and "Nücat". Really, they're brilliant, fun songs. Guaranteed to perk you up! (Neile) |
