Hi-Rise Ranch EPRelease info:2015 Availability:See Pi Jacobs' site Ecto priority:Recommended Group members:Pi Jacobs—vocals, acoustic guitars, electric guitars, bass Guest artists:Kei Pritchard—backing vocals Produced by:Eugene Toale Comments:Pi Jacobs has a gorgeous voice, and uses it well on this short, but intense record. "Starting Now" deals with the women who were captured by Ariel Castro, and offers an empathic hope that they can recover from the ordeal. It's an upbeat song with a hopeful tone. "Icy Road" is an appealing song with a positive message about perseverance, and Jacobs sings beautifully. The cover of Led Zeppelin's "Babe, I'm gonna leave you" is done with a soulful vibe, and puts the emphasis on Jacob's lovely vocals, and she harmonizes effectively with her backing singers. It's a fabulous record. (stjarnell@yahoo.com) Thanks to Anna Maria Stjärnell for work on this entry.
