General comments:

Pilgrim Beware mostly does a mind of Americana/folky blues with a country touch. Lead singer Jennifer Paul has a sweet, young-ish sounding slightly smokey, slightly wavery voice. (sophiagurley@hotmail.com)

Comments:

Shanghaied & Haunted starts with a delightful bossa nova-flavoured track, "Soap The Ring," but continues mostly in a more bluesy tone. My favourite tracks here are the lively "Soap The Ring" and "Josephina." The more bluesy tracks are good in a Mazzy Star-like way, but not as special to my ears. A promising band and I'm sorry they are no more. (sophiagurley@hotmail.com)
