Ging GingRelease info:1999—Cargo Music—REC-038 Availability:See Purr Machine's CD Baby page Ecto priority:Highly recommended for rock fans Group members:Betsey Martin—vocals Guest artists:Kevin Pinnt—additional drum programming on 1 track Produced by:Kevin Kipnis Comments:Ging Ging is a collection of driving rock songs, energized by powerhouse musicians who put together an intriguing, updated sound with the distinctive, raspy vocals of Betsy Martin. My favourite tracks are the heavy, crooning "Regarding Mary" and the deep, droning "Speak Clearly" with its lyrical vocal counterpoint line. Wow. Their cover of "Send Me an Angel" turns the song into classic Purr Machine rock. There's a lot to enjoy here. Highly recommended for fans of contemporary rock and unique vocals.
