Self AnimationRelease info:2010—Cult V Productions—CV 32603 Availability:See Self Animation's site Ecto priority:Recommended Group members:Kara Delonas—vocals, bass, upright bug bass Guest artists:Nick Delonas—guitars, guitar synthsizers, sequencing Produced by:Nick Delonas Comments:This group have an appealing, very smooth sound that nonetheless retains some edges. The lead singers' harmonies sound assured, even if their youth is apparent. There's a similarity to The Corrs' radio-friendly sound a maybe a little to mid-period Cranberries. The cover of the pop hit "Cinderella" works but doesn't appeal much to me. The original songs are much better and easier on the ear. "The way" is an especially good with some stellar harmonies. "Sad Star" works fine and has a terrific tune. It's a very promising debut in all. (stjarnell@yahoo.com) Thanks to Anna Maria Stjärnell for work on this entry.
