(stjarnell@yahoo.com) Recommended first album:The Crater EP is his debut Recordings:The Crater EP (2008) The Crater EP (2008)Release info:2008—self-released Availability:See Ian Wilson's site Ecto priority:Recommended Group members:Ian Wilson—piano, vocals Comments:Ian Wilson's debut ep is a nice listen; he pens honest and unflinchingly emotional songs. "Andrew" is a deep narrative of a dysfunctional relationship, Walton's piano playing is superlative here. "The Crater" is sumptuous and has a stunning vocal line. The Tori Amos influence shows here. "Creative writing workshop" shows Wilson's music from it most appealing side. His piano playing is excellent as ever and the lyrics nicely self-depreciating. He's made a remarkable debut.
